HC-SNAP Projects TDCJ In-mate meal funding: The HCSNA participates in the Texas Department of Justice in-mate volunteer work program. This program allows volunteer in-mates from low security TDCJ facilities to volunteer their time to do service work at state parks. The HCSNA has been participating in this program for several years with the help of the HC-SNAP. Our friends group funds the meals for the in-mates. The HCSNA does not have the budget ability to pay for the daily meals of the in-mate volunteers so HC-SNAP has stepped up to provide funding for these meals. The in-mate volunteers have provided a valuable work force for park improvements. This includes work and landscaping on the park facilities like the Group Lodge, the park Headquarters, and other structures. In addition to brush clearing and trail maintenance. Electrical Up-grade to Chapa's Group Camp. HC-SNAP with help from TETRA (the Texas Equestrian Trail-Riding Association) has paid for the installation of 12 new 30amp RV outlets at Chapa's Group Camp. |
